Reformatting…

Greetings and shalom, friends.

Over the past few months, I have allowed my life to fall into disarray. I have been having numerous financial troubles, I have no means of personal transportation, my housing situation is temporary at best, and I have been mentally and spiritually exsanguinated. Occupationally, things will get worse before they can get better; unless I find additional employment – or replace my current job with a better-paying one – I will gain no respite from work.

I need time to refocus and reformat, to change what doesn’t work and improve what does. This may involve anything from attending religious services to therapy and counseling. While I figure myself out and attempt to improve my spiritual life and overall living conditions, I may be offline occasionally or indefinitely. During these periods of time you may be able to reach me, or you may not.

Additionally, I will be wiping out my Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and other online accounts and beginning again. When my new accounts are online and active, you will – should you desire to continue our associations – be able to add me as a friend or follow me there, should I not add or follow you first; I will post more details about that at a later date. I also hope to have a professional website up soon to help me get commission work, either part- or full-time.

This is a sneak peak of something from a Star Trek story I’m working on purely for my own enjoyment. It isn’t quite fan fiction, as the story will feature an all new crew of Starfleet officers and familiar characters from the first five Star Trek series will only be shown in occasional cameo roles.

Greetings, programs. I thought I would take a moment and enumerate my personal guidelines for my Twitter account, specifically those governing who I follow or do not follow and why. These rules are not set in stone; they are merely guidelines, and though I usually keep to any guidelines I set for myself with almost obsessive tenacity, I reserve the right to transgress these guidelines at any time, for any reason, disclosed or not. I may transgress one guideline, but I shall never transgress all guidelines simultaneously.

Without further ado, I present my Twitter Following Policies.

The Edge of Chaos CHAPTER 2: “The Death of the Prophet”

This is the second chapter of the unfinished story I was writing back in 2004 called The Edge of Chaos; the Prelude and First Chapter I posted earlier was the precursor to this. It’s just as rambling as before, and the language feels as forced as a sitcom in some places. I hope to update this or completely rewriting it sometime soon. There’s also the stereotypical “jerk-ass cop/Federal agent” in this chapter; I’ll probably get rid of his character when/if I rewrite this. I post it here only to receive feedback, and to show how far my writing has come. I will post two more chapters after this. Does the story interest you thus far? If so, let me know!

For some reason, the footnotes completely disappear in this chapter. This chapter was written with an old friend of mine, Taya, whom I haven’t heard from in years. (The dialogue for her self-named character feels more natural, I think.) Taya, if you’re reading this, contact me so I can link back to you and give you proper credit.

Warning: thereare plenty of footnotes. I had been reading The Illuminatus! Trilogy when I wrote this, and Robert Anton Wilson’s comedic misuse of them influenced me a little too much. Moreover, I was far too immature a writer when I penned this, and much of it is absolute schlock. Terribly sorry!
